Hosted on DysCalculia Zone online, is the brand new online screening tool dyscalculiUM. The DysCalculiUM tool has been developed by Tribal and iansyst, its principle objective is to establish a person’s understanding both of number and of the application of number to other systems. This enables the screener to discriminate dyscalculia from other SpLDs such as Asperger syndrome effectively.
DyscalculiUM is the first web-based solution for screening for dyscalculia in the post-16 age group and has been designed to screen both large groups of students and individuals.
It evaluates a person’s understanding of number concepts and their inter-relationships as well as highlighting the application of such understanding to everyday situations. Consequently, this enables the screener to discriminate dyscalculia from other SpLDs such as Asperger Syndrome effectively.
The web-based delivery of DysCalculiUM means that candidates can take the screening in their own time and at their own pace, while the administration tools provide evaluators with an automatically generated profile of the candidates skills along with recommendations for supporting them. Generally taking less than an hour to complete, DyscalculiUM offers a quick and easy screening tool for individuals in FE/HE or the workplace.
